📋 Description

• Carry out remote prescribing reviews and consultations (video, telephone and asynchronous) for private/MSP clients, assessing eligibility and suitability against the medicine's licence and the company's criteria. • Confirm identity and weight verification before prescribing, and cross-check medication history against the Summary Care Record or GP record where available. • Lead shared decision-making by explaining benefits, risks and alternatives, confirming capacity and consent, and documenting it in the clinical record. • Prescribe within licence, competence and the agreed formulary (Wegovy, Mounjaro, Saxenda, Orlistat), following GMC good and remote prescribing standards and the RPS Prescribing Competency Framework. • Manage the prescribing journey through dispensing, GP notification, follow-up, titration, repeats, monitoring and discharge. • Handle side effects, adherence and dosage queries, escalating cases beyond straightforward review to the Clinical Lead. • Bring complex cases, protocol questions and improvement ideas to the monthly MDT and act on decisions. • Maintain accurate, contemporaneous clinical records and contribute to prescribing audits, incident reporting and duty of candour.

🎯 Requirements

• Current, unrestricted UK prescribing registration: GMC-registered doctor, GPhC-registered pharmacist, or NMC-registered nurse with an independent prescriber qualification. • Current UK professional registration and revalidation. • Confident and safe remote prescribing within GMC good and remote prescribing standards and the RPS Prescribing Competency Framework. • Experience assessing patients for and prescribing GLP-1 therapies and other weight-management medications. • Sound clinical judgement regarding scope of practice; prescribe within competence and escalate early when in doubt. • Clear, careful clinical documentation and strong follow-through on operational safety steps. • Excellent communication skills. • Comfortable working digital-first across pathway systems. • 20–40 hours per week, split evenly across 5 days. • Ability to undertake weekend work if required. • Initial fixed-term contract, with potential transition to permanent contract based on performance.
