📋 Description

• Take primary responsibility for an active first-party litigation docket from inception through resolution • Handle caseload autonomously through all phases of litigation, with assistance, support, and strategic guidance as needed • Defend first-party bad faith lawsuits involving commercial property, business income, residential property, UM/UIM coverage, Stowers, excess judgment, and other coverage disputes • Develop and execute litigation strategy with client representatives from large, national insurance carriers • Build strong client relationships through communication, responsiveness, and results • Draft pleadings, motions, written discovery, and client reporting • Conduct depositions, attend hearings, participate in settlement discussions, and manage litigation through final resolution • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines • Develop trial skills and grow an insurance litigation career toward partnership and business generation

🎯 Requirements

• Active license to practice law in Texas • 5+ years of experience litigating first-party insurance disputes • Excellent legal research, writing, litigation strategy, and litigation advocacy skills • Extensive experience drafting pleadings, motions, written discovery, and client reporting in insurance disputes • Experience with depositions, hearing attendance, settlement discussions, and all other aspects of litigation through final resolution • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines • Proactive mindset and confidence to take the lead on files while valuing collaboration • Experience with first-party insurance litigation, preferably involving property coverages
