• Lead EHS professionals at the corporate level • Promote a proactive approach to recognizing and mitigating environmental, health, and safety risks • Collaborate with the EHS Managing Director, Senior EHS Director, Corporate EHS Directors, Senior Regional EHS Managers, EHS operations teams, and operational leaders • Establish and maintain compliance with applicable federal and state EHS regulations • Ensure uniform application of company EHS programs • Evaluate risk and implement programs to prevent injury and illness and ensure environmental compliance • Partner with operations to develop effective and innovative workplace safety and environmental solutions • Develop and implement corporate EHS policies, programs, and training materials • Participate in corporate training and business meetings • Ensure facilities are prepared for corporate and external audits • Ensure timely closeout of open audit findings • Lead and serve on corporate audit teams • Coordinate medical management and workers’ compensation procedures and protocols • Assist operations with workers’ compensation claims and cost mitigation • Lead Senior Regional Managers through leadership, development, and coaching • Manage EHS systems and programs, including EHS databases, risk mitigation, audits, ergonomics/Fit for Work, EHS technologies, SDS approval systems, rules tracking, fire systems, workers’ compensation, training, and EHS alerts
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in environmental, safety, health, or related field • 10+ years of related experience • Minimum 5+ years of experience in a leadership position, including team development and management • Ability to make strategic decisions in stressful situations, including leading emergency response efforts • Willingness and ability to travel to other locations 50% of the time depending on the initiative • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables • Ability to interpret, design, and communicate key EHS data to internal stakeholders • Ability to plan and execute EHS systems and programs with operations • Excellent knowledge of EPA and OSHA regulations and workers’ compensation processes • PSM/RMP experience a plus • Bilingual skills preferred but not required • Strong oral and written communication skills for reports, correspondence, and procedures • Effective presentation skills and ability to respond to questions from a diverse audience • Detail oriented • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office and EHS database systems such as Cority • Ability to perform physical duties including bending, moving, lifting, and carrying materials up to 50 pounds, and in more demanding roles up to 70 pounds • Ability to stand for up to eight hours each day during site visits or meetings
