• Draft, review and negotiate agreements for environmental commodities and clean-fuel instruments, including emissions allowance trading contracts (e.g., RINs, LCFS, CFR, EU ETS, Fuel EU Maritime) and related confirmations. • Draft, review and negotiate physical commodity sale and purchase agreements (biofuels, feedstocks and gas) and ancillary logistics or handling services supporting the supply chain. • Monitor evolving regulatory developments affecting carbon, clean fuels and commodity markets and support their implementation within documentation and processes. • Support the preparation, handling and management of pre-litigation matters, including claims, notices, early dispute correspondence and coordination with external counsel. • Collaborate with Trading, Operations, Risk, Treasury, and Tax to ensure contractual terms support commercial objectives and can be operationalized effectively. • Contribute to ongoing enhancement of legal templates and contract-management processes and internal policies.
• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B., J.D. or equivalent) from a recognized university; bar admission is an asset. • 3–5 years’ experience in the energy and physical commodities industry • Experience negotiating NAESB and EFET documentation and biofuel/feedstock purchase and sale agreements, storage and logistics agreements. • Experience negotiating emissions allowance trading contracts (e.g. RINs, LCFS, CFR, EU ETS) • Experience with ISDA and CSA documentation is a plus but not a core requirement. • Excellent command of English (oral and written) is required and any additional language is considered an asset (French preferred). • Strong drafting, communication and organizational skills, with attention to detail and commercial awareness. • Proactive, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced trading environment with multiple stakeholders.
