📋 Description

• Advise business and finance teams on global forest project developments and operations, as well as the structuring and financing of such forest projects. • Support the company's international practices and ensure compliance with all relevant laws, standards, and regulations. • Advise on matters related to land tenure and rights on project sites. • Lead due diligence and risk assessment on proposed deals and transactions. • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial and legal documents such as term sheets, financing and funding contracts, agreements, and policies. • Ensure compliance with legal regulations, environmental policies, and industry standards. • Develop and maintain legal policies and procedures that align with the company's strategic goals and objectives. • Assist with any legal disputes that may arise, including the engagement, collaboration with, and management of outside counsel as necessary.

🎯 Requirements

• A Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school • 5+ years of experience in project finance in energy or other infrastructure projects, and/or project development on forestry, agriculture, or other real estate ventures • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal issues in a clear and concise manner • Highly detail-oriented and able to manage multiple legal matters concurrently • Strong business acumen and the ability to take action and respond in a fast-paced startup environment • Other duties as assigned.
