• Structured Literacy Instruction: Deliver one-on-one and small-group sessions over video using an evidence-based, structured literacy approach tailored to each student's profile. • Individual Student Support: Work directly with students on decoding, fluency, spelling, and reading comprehension, adjusting instruction based on how each student is progressing. • Progress Monitoring: Use running records, curriculum-based measures, and other reading assessments to track growth and adjust plans on a regular cadence. • Partner With Guides and Coaches: Collaborate with academic guides and athletic coaches so accommodations and strategies are applied consistently across a student's academic day. • Parent Communication: Provide regular updates to parents on strategies, progress, and next steps, and coach parents on how to reinforce reading work at home. • Platform and Accommodation Support: Help students use text-to-speech, audiobooks, and other tools effectively, and make sure classroom accommodations translate into the online learning environment.
• Direct Experience Supporting Students With Dyslexia: You have worked with students who have dyslexia or related reading differences and can point to specific examples of the reading gains you helped them achieve. • Training in Structured Literacy: You have completed training in Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, LETRS, or a comparable structured literacy program, and you use those methods in your day-to-day practice. • Assessment and Planning Skills: You can read a student's assessment data, identify the right instructional next step, and communicate that plan clearly to parents and staff. • Comfortable in an Athletic Environment: You understand the demands of competitive youth athletics and can build trust with student-athletes who are already managing a lot. • Bachelor's Degree: In education, special education, reading, speech-language pathology, or a related field. • Location: Remote (U.S.) • Bonus Points • Virtual Experience With Kids: You have taught, tutored, or supported students in a fully remote setting and know how to keep engagement high through a screen. • Certified Academic Language Therapist or Equivalent: CALT, CALP, or comparable certification in dyslexia intervention. • Background in Sports or Athletics: Personal or professional experience in competitive athletics. • Bilingual (English/Spanish): Ability to communicate with Spanish-speaking families.
