📋 Description

• Secure and retain business for PPD through professional, consultative, proactive sales activities • Position PPD as a primary or preferred provider for outsourced clinical development work, focusing on Phase II and III clinical research studies • Qualify deals and develop proposals, including defining solutions and recommending pricing structures • Serve as the primary contact until work is sold • Coordinate with clinical development areas to ensure successful implementation • Act as liaison between sponsors and the company on business development activities and requirements • Gather data on marketing trends, competitive products/services, and pricing • Orchestrate RFP strategy calls • Develop client proposals and prepare client presentations • Negotiate and close contracts • Sign new business authorizations at or above the assigned authorization goal • Make cold calls and conduct client visits • Maintain the sales database and activity reports • Ensure client satisfaction through periodic client contact • Address client dissatisfaction and respond to client requests • Mentor and train junior-level staff

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualification • 8+ years of comparable relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience • Scientific, sales, and/or marketing background concentrated in pharmaceutical/biotech • Proven track record developing mid- and high-level business contacts • Experience in a CRO organization • Solid sales and key account management experience in Phase II–III clinical research studies; FSP sales experience highly desirable • Excellent interpersonal skills to manage and integrate with Operations, Finance, Bids & Contracts, and Marketing • Experience identifying and developing sales leads • Experience making professional presentations • Experience managing the sales process through close • Experience handling all aspects of contract negotiations • Understanding of sales automation systems and Microsoft Office programs
