📋 Description

• You’ll plan, design, develop and deliver content, live online lessons and assessments for learners on Tiro’s Applied Chemical Sciences modules. • You’ll deliver a variety of specialist modules/content/materials/assessments that are learner-centric. • You’ll provide rich feedback on assessments, making things relevant to the workplace context and experiences that champion and grow your learners’ determination to succeed. • You’ll anticipate, spot and address issues/challenges to nip them in the bud to keep learners progressing with their learning. • Design robust module delivery plans, ensure they are clear and instructive. • Design and develop subject-specific content for Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and Live Lesson Delivery. • Deliver Live Lessons per module which stimulate curiosity and enthusiasm, creating an inclusive and friendly environment. • Ensure module assessments are marked and returned to learners in accordance with Tiro’s Assessment Policy.

🎯 Requirements

• Degree qualification or higher in the field of Chemistry. • Experience in organic chemistry, synthetic chemistry or a related chemical science field. • Experience designing and/or delivering Level 5–6, or equivalent, chemistry content. • Experience creating digital or blended learning materials. • Experience supporting learners with chemical problem-solving, reaction mechanisms and synthesis planning. • Industry or research experience in relevant areas, such as pharmaceutical chemistry, medicinal chemistry, process chemistry, fine chemicals, analytical chemistry or chemical manufacturing, desirable. • Advanced understanding of organic chemistry principles and their application. • Specialist knowledge in areas such as reaction mechanisms, functional group chemistry, stereochemistry, retrosynthetic analysis and synthetic route design. • Understanding of organic synthesis techniques, purification methods and analytical characterisation approaches. • Awareness of safe working practices in synthetic chemistry, including risk assessment, reagent handling and waste management. • Understanding of Level 5–6 academic standards and assessment design. • Knowledge of digital and blended learning design principles. • Awareness of current industry practices and emerging trends in organic synthesis, pharmaceutical chemistry, fine chemicals and related sectors. • Design and development of high-quality curriculum and learning materials for organic synthesis. • Ability to explain complex chemical concepts, mechanisms and synthetic strategies clearly and effectively. • Ability to contextualise organic synthesis within laboratory, industrial and research settings. • Digital content creation, including presentations, interactive resources, worked examples and learning activities. • Effective teaching and facilitation in online and/or face-to-face settings. • Assessment design and delivery, including constructive feedback on chemical reasoning, problem-solving and written scientific communication. • Strong communication and collaboration skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities across modules.
