📋 Description

• Design and implement improvements across storage, indexing, and querying layers of the search engine • Perform intensive performance optimization using tracing, CPU/heap profiling, data-structure optimization, SIMD, and I/O pipeline tuning • Evolve full-text, vector, and reranking search primitives and APIs • Work closely with customers to win their workloads and incorporate learnings into the product • Write clear, concise documentation

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive experience working in a systems language such as Rust, C++, Java, or Go • Strong understanding of memory layouts, cache lines, and syscalls • Methodical root-cause problem-solving ability • Expert domain knowledge in at least one of: search internals, storage engines, or distributed systems • Linux expertise, including terminals, eBPF/perf, strace, and gdb • Ability to write well and explain complex ideas simply • Multiple years of Rust experience is nice to have • Experience maintaining or operating serious production systems at scale is nice to have • Contributions to databases, information retrieval, or systems communities are nice to have • Additional expertise in Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure or security is nice to have
