📋 Description

• Manage agreed contracts with external design consultants and contractors alongside the Project Manager • Ensure contractual duties are discharged and appropriate action is taken when they are not • Lead technical assurance, review constructability, and manage design interfaces • Manage, evaluate, and guide the design process • Manage multidisciplinary engineering teams in producing project solutions • Collaborate with technical, operational, maintenance, strategic stakeholders, and design coordinators • Liaise with clients, Engineering Managers, Project Managers, contractors, and consultants regarding project issues, scope changes, and risks • Drive innovative, practical, and sustainable engineering solutions meeting client, operational, and regulatory requirements • Embed health, safety, and environmental considerations into engineering and design solutions • Ensure integration across civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical, and electrical functions • Ensure constructability, maintainability, and reliability across the asset lifecycle • Lead design input on multidisciplinary infrastructure projects from early concepts through delivery

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience managing design through the full project lifecycle • Strong understanding of integrated design delivery and managing consultant performance • Knowledge and experience of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and common data environments • Degree qualified, or equivalent, in an engineering discipline, either Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering • Chartered Engineer (Preferred) status with CIBSE, IMechE or similar • Strong practical knowledge of construction work types, methods and design solutions • Experience with CAD (AutoCAD or Revit) • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and staff • Self-driven and results-oriented with a positive outlook • People management, time management, and project design management skills
