• Lead technical aspects of externally manufactured respiratory products and selected global key brands • Develop and execute technology transfer projects aligned with commercial launch targets • Improve manufacturing process robustness, efficiency, right-first-time performance, and cost competitiveness • Provide technical expertise to support vendor performance and third-party manufacturing • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sourcing, R&D, and other departments • Serve as technical leader, project manager, and technical point of contact for contract manufacturing organisations • Evaluate CMO capacity against commercial demand and propose capacity plans • Evaluate CMO technical performance and propose changes for timely, cost-efficient cGMP product supply • Manage vendors and internal teams to meet project timelines • Report project progress, risks, and mitigation plans to management • Participate in CMO negotiations as a subject matter expert • Develop and execute tech transfer plans with R&D, regional teams, and CMOs • Support implementation of processes and technologies into GMP manufacturing operations • Lead external GMP manufacturing investigations, root-cause determinations, and CAPA closure • Identify and propose improvements to manufacturing quality, safety, productivity, and reliability • Develop technical proficiency of Viatris colleagues through product and process knowledge sharing • Provide leadership with information for external manufacturing systems, goals, schedules, and budgets • Drive continuous improvement and support new technology and product innovation • Manage technical issues and experimental design for process improvement, scale-up, and new technology introduction • Maintain product technical and performance information for process improvement and troubleshooting • Manage technical projects to scope, time, and budget • Perform other duties as assigned
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) with a specialisation in Engineering or a related science field is required • Demonstrable relevant experience • Must be knowledgeable in many aspects of pharmaceutical development and GMP manufacturing • Technical skills, administrative management skills, teamwork orientation, and interpersonal skills • Experience in at least one product category: OINDP, parenteral, blow-fill-seal, vaccine, or drug/device combinations • Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute experimental plans, especially in commercial plants • Statistical analysis and professional technical reporting of results • Ability to lead assigned project teams and work effectively on a matrix basis • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills • Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading, and writing English is required • Role may be based in the United States or Europe
