• Process biweekly payroll runs and off-cycle payments for employees and independent contractors • Review and validate timesheets, deductions, and tax information to ensure accurate pay • Assist with payroll system updates, testing, and troubleshooting • Maintain payroll records in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations • Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner • Assist with wage garnishments, benefit and 401(k) deductions, and related reconciliations • Support regular audits of payroll data, controls, and processes • Collaborate with internal teams including Human Resources, Finance, and Operations to ensure accuracy and alignment across systems • Proactively contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency and service delivery
• 3–5 years of payroll experience in a multi-state, distributed workforce environment and a deep knowledge of payroll tax • Familiarity with payroll compliance regulations including wage and hour laws, garnishments, and tax withholdings • Hands-on experience using Rippling (or similar systems) preferred • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business, or a related field preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., FPC, CPP) are a plus • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to change
