• Begin with an accelerated nuclear design specific training and education that will lead to a Westinghouse Nuclear Design (ND) qualification. • Embracing the nuclear culture - Understand what makes Nuclear Special and implement human performance tools and operating experience to produce high quality error free customer deliverables. • Perform nuclear core design reload calculations by using the internal and external nuclear core design simulation coeds, following internal methodology and design manuals, and consulting with experienced peer and mentor engineers. • Leading a plant or multiple plants in core design reload cycles, interacting with the utilities to meet their safety and operational needs. • Participants will interpret the results and work with independent engineering verifiers and to produce and deliver quality calculations to operating PWR plants. • Participate in engineering learning seminars to maintain qualification and learn and apply lessons learned and operational experience in core design. • Become a member of a core reload team and interact regularly with the nuclear plant customer to provide high quality analyses on a core reload schedule. • Candidate will be required to interface with functional groups within Core Engineering (Thermal Hydraulics, Fuel Rod Design, Project Management) and groups outside CE (Safety Analysis and Licensing).
• BS Nuclear Engineering • Minimum 3.0 GPA strongly preferred • 3+ years of applicable experience • Interest in Core Neutronics and Nuclear Fuel Design • Computer simulation experience preferred, but not strictly required
