Descrição

• Lead and oversee mechanical systems essential for data center infrastructure functionality • Develop specifications, select key components, determine component placement, select fastening methods, and transition designs to manufacturing • Lead test process implementation and equipment selection • Serve as subject matter expert for single-phase and two-phase liquid cooling applications in hyperscale data centers • Define operational expectations for liquid-cooling racks, manifolds, and related infrastructure • Review CAD and technical data packages to validate mechanical design requirements • Lead multidisciplinary reviews to ensure plumbing, hydronic systems, components, performance, and codes meet requirements • Evaluate thermal data from engineering and manufacturing tests to confirm thermo-mechanical conformance • Conduct stress and flow analyses for piping systems • Collaborate with project managers on design quotations and identify or mitigate project risks • Select pipes, fittings, and valves for chillers, HVAC systems, and liquid-cooling loops • Collaborate cross-functionally on liquid-cooling system compatibility and integration at rack, site, equipment, and system levels • Prepare technical specifications, testing procedures, installation procedures, and maintenance guidelines • Use CAD and CAE tools for engineering tasks • Evaluate and optimize manufacturing assembly processes, methods, and equipment • Create detailed mechanical designs for components, subassemblies, and system integration • Create BOMs for release to manufacturing • Perform testing, debugging, and validation of mechanical systems and support manufacturing processes • Manage relationships with mechanical component vendors and contract manufacturers • Propose R&D project ideas with management • Assess engineering feasibility and cost-effectiveness with management and production staff • Apply modular data center design principles to liquid-cooling integration • Design cooling systems for prefabricated and skid-mounted deployment, accounting for transport and vibration loads, shipping constraints, and inter-module interfaces • Mentor junior engineers and share best practices

🎯 Requisitos

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field is required • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in mechanical system integration • Proven track record of successful system designs and implementations in a relevant industry • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, integration strategy, and system coordination • Strong background in liquid cooling technology used in data center design and buildout • Subject matter expertise in single-phase and two-phase liquid cooling applications within hyperscale data centers • Expertise in enclosed and facility-based cooling systems • Experience with current Cooling Distribution Unit (CDU) technologies • Knowledge of LC rack, manifold, and liquid-cooling infrastructure operational requirements • Proficiency in leak testing/mitigation, hydrostatic pressure validation, flow resistance analysis, and corrosion assessments • Knowledge of ASME and ISO standards • In-depth knowledge of rack manifold manufacturing, design, and function • Experience reviewing CAD/technical data packages and validating mechanical design requirements • Knowledge of plumbing and hydronic systems and applicable code requirements • Ability to evaluate thermal data from engineering or manufacturing tests • Knowledge of copper, stainless steel, and aluminum piping fabrication and installation • Understanding of stress and flow analysis • Proficiency with CAD tools, CAE tools, and engineering equipment • Ability to create detailed mechanical designs and Bills of Materials (BOMs) • Experience testing, debugging, and validating mechanical systems • Knowledge of stage-gate processes in project lifecycle management (PLCM) • Ability to travel 20% to 30% as required; role notes up to 30% domestic and/or international travel • Ability to work independently and as part of a global team • Master’s degree and active Professional Engineer (PE) license are preferred, not required • Alternatively, a suitable combination of education, experience, and/or training may be considered
