• Lead customer engagement, commercialization strategy, and PPA negotiations for utility-scale solar and storage portfolios • Convert development-stage projects into contracted, revenue-generating assets • Partner with project development to position the development pipeline for successful offtake • Work cross-functionally with interconnection, finance, engineering, construction, asset management, insurance, and legal teams • Monitor market fundamentals, customer demand trends, procurement activity, and regulatory developments • Prepare commercial theses and presentations for Senior Management • Build and maintain relationships with utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, load serving entities, and corporate off takers • Prepare marketing materials and initiate bilateral offtake discussions with potential buyers • Direct bid package preparation for RFPs and RFIs covering utility-scale solar, storage, and hybrid projects • Lead PPA negotiations from proposal development and initial term sheet through contract execution • Serve as the primary contact for PPA counterparties and lead commercial discussions • Facilitate issue resolution during negotiations • Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to create issue lists and negotiation strategies • Structure commercial terms to reduce company-controlled risk • Create memoranda, strategy decks, and board presentations for governance review
• Minimum of five years’ experience working in energy markets, or seven years’ experience working on utility-scale renewable energy projects generally • Familiarity with key concepts in renewable project PPAs • Strong writing skills • Ability to read and understand legal documents and contracts • Organized and detail oriented while maintaining a broad perspective • Experience coordinating with cross-functional experts on complex projects • Ability to travel up to 30% to meet with customers • Safe driving record and valid driver’s license • Eastern U.S. residence strongly preferred • Experience managing solar, wind, or battery PPA negotiations from bid stage through execution preferred • Expertise with Eastern U.S. power market design preferred • Experience evaluating quantitative implications of PPA provisions, including curtailment, LMP basis, battery charging restrictions, and real-time versus day-ahead bidding strategies preferred • Familiarity with power procurement regulatory processes, including IRPs, RPS, and rate cases preferred • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States • The company does not sponsor applicants for work visas
