Descrição

• Define backend architecture for Reddit’s media creation tools • Build infrastructure for capturing, editing, and publishing video and image content • Work cross-functionally with product, design, and engineering counterparts • Build fast, maintainable APIs integrated with frontend clients for real-time creator experiences • Contribute to technical design, development, testing, experimentation, analysis, and launch • Participate with a team of engineers • Improve developer workflows and recommend engineering best practices • Mentor junior engineers • Balance development speed with product quality and reliability • Build brand-new products and features supporting Reddit’s global media product strategy

🎯 Requisitos

• BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience • 3+ years of industry experience in large-scale distributed systems • 5+ years of hands-on, professional software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages (Go, Python, Ruby, Java, C++) • Experience with GraphQL, REST, HTTP, gRPC, Thrift basics, and designing and implementing maintainable APIs • Experience with distributed caching layers and distributed large scale data storage systems like Redis • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks and deliver projects on schedule • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment • Experience translating complex user workflows into robust backend state management • Experience building asynchronous media processing pipelines and scalable event-driven microservices • Familiarity with background data fetching • Strong data analysis skills using SQL • Hands-on expertise with FFMPEG, GPAC, and similar media frameworks
