Descrição

• Analyze legislation and regulatory requirements • Prepare and interpret legal documents • Review company policies to ensure compliance and mitigate risk • Provide legal advice and support as a business partner to support company goals, strategy, and values • Review vendor and partner contracts to identify gaps in privacy controls and other obligations • Ensure contract compliance • Review contracts for industry-standard IT Security language and enhance it as needed • Determine data flows to and from third parties and ensure contractual language is effective for those data flows • Review contracts for necessary language regarding Generative AI technology usage in the insurance industry • Support major audits, including SOC 2 and other privacy-related audits • Coordinate contract negotiations, amendments, and renewals directly with vendors • Work with business stakeholders to execute Data Processing Addendums and Business Associate Agreements • Review and draft amendments to complex insurance contracts • Partner with Finance to ensure vendor contracts meet budgetary requirements • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requisitos

• Familiarity with HIPAA and state and federal data privacy laws • Background in contract law and contract drafting • Familiarity with SaaS contracting • Outstanding oral and written communication skills • Ability to act as a key business partner • Ability to interpret statutes, regulations, insurance policies, and contracts analytically • Interpersonal skills to be seen as a trusted advisor • Decision-making ability to set work priorities and make recommendations • Strong negotiation and diplomacy skills • Unquestionable integrity, strong work ethic, strong business acumen, and good judgment • Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited law school • Active member of a US State bar • 2+ years of experience as a practicing lawyer • Equivalent military experience accepted • Preferred: 5+ years of experience as a practicing lawyer • Preferred: Experience in insurance regulation or a highly regulated environment or industry • Preferred: Experience with federal and/or state regulatory requirements governing Life, Disability, Dental, Supplemental, and/or Absence and Leave Management Insurance products • Preferred: CIPP Certification
