• Set the technical direction for AYBI's AI and GenAI work, the architecture, the build-vs-buy calls, and the honest judgment of when AI is the wrong tool. • Build and ship AI into our products and client solutions, LLM applications, RAG over messy real-world data, agents and tool-calling, and make them production-grade, not demo-grade. • Own reliability: evals as the unit tests of our AI (eval suites in CI, golden datasets), observability and tracing on every call, and guardrails against hallucination and prompt injection. • Keep AI affordable: track cost and latency per task, and use caching, routing, and the right model for the job rather than the biggest one. • Lead the productization push the team is starting, turn one-off work into repeatable, observable, dependable products, with the testing and monitoring to match. • Lift the engineers around you, through craft, clear direction, and the occasional workshop, and help the whole team adopt AI well. • You lead through your roles and accountabilities, not a reporting line; we self-organise. • Translate AI capability into real client value and push back on anything that's AI for AI's sake. • Stay close to the frontier: read what's new, test what's promising, bring back what's worth it.
• Attitude: energy, curiosity. You bring positive energy to every call, and you'd rather ship something useful than polish something perfect. • Experience: ~3–5 years in software engineering, building and shipping AI/ML or GenAI systems in production. • AI/ML engineering, in production: you've built and shipped LLM/GenAI systems that real people use, RAG, agents, tool-calling, not notebooks and demos. • Strong Python, and you know the modern AI stack (LLM APIs across providers like Anthropic / OpenAI / open models, vector databases, an orchestration framework) well enough to know where it breaks. • Reliability & LLMOps: you make AI dependable, evals, observability and tracing, guardrails, prompt and version control, cost and latency budgets. • Technical leadership: you set technical direction others buy into, make the architecture calls, and leave the engineers around you better than you found them, through influence and clarity, not authority. • Client & business sense: you can tell AI that creates client value from AI that's just hype and explain which is which to a non-technical client. • Self-management: you thrive without a manager. Distributed authority, owning your roles, raising and resolving tensions, reshaping your work as it changes, that reads as freedom to you, not chaos. • Communication: strong in English. • Nice to have: data or BI background or consultancy experience; cloud + deployment muscle (AWS / Azure / GCP, Docker, CI/CD); model distillation, structured outputs, and multimodal pipelines.
• A salary between €7,400–€9,200 per month + impact bonus + profit sharing + pension (NL only) + €5,000 annual development budget + 8% holiday allowance (NL only) + €500 home-office budget + a laptop + team outings + informal drinks + the occasional well-earned "Hey, well done Buddy!" • 25 vacation days + public holidays + special leave + the option to buy up to 10 extra days + a sabbatical of up to 4 months • Work remotely: as long as it’s within a similar time zone, and you attend every quarterly company meeting in the Netherlands or abroad
