Beschreibung

• Join the Software, Applications and Analytics Center of Excellence as a senior backend software engineer • Build cloud-based analytics solutions and custom backend applications for NOAA • Design, develop, and deliver backend solutions and services for customers and internal teams • Work directly on customer systems and solve customer problems • Identify backend best practices and build database architecture • Develop microservices architectures and RESTful APIs • Contribute to new business opportunities and mature Data & Software Engineering capabilities • Develop and deploy backend software using DevSecOps, microservices, RESTful APIs, and AI/ML solutions • Collaborate with customer and internal teams to assess needs and translate them into technical solutions • Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership

🎯 Anforderungen

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline • 12+ years of professional backend software development experience • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot framework • Expert-level proficiency in Spring MVC, Spring Data, Spring Security, and Spring Cloud • Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures • Experience with Agile workflow methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) • Expertise in relational databases, especially PostgreSQL, and NoSQL databases including MongoDB, ElasticSearch, and OpenSearch • Experience with Hibernate/JPA and Spring Data JPA • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes • Experience deploying microservices within automated DevSecOps/CI/CD pipelines • Proficiency with Maven or Gradle • Experience with JUnit, Mockito, Spring Test, and integration testing • Understanding of AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud technologies and architectures • Experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar message brokers and event-driven architectures • Experience with Tomcat, Netty, or Undertow embedded servers • Understanding of SOLID, DDD, and Clean Architecture • Experience with Git and collaborative development workflows • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment • Ability to understand and prioritize customer needs • Ability to mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Commitment to NOAA's mission and demonstrated expertise in Federal Government data systems • US Citizen able to obtain a Public Trust Clearance Required
