Beschreibung

• Define the future of banking in the cloud as a Staff Engineer at Capital One • Articulate and evangelize a bold technical vision for the domain • Decompose complex problems into practical, operational solutions • Ensure the quality of technical design and implementation • Advise on non-functional system characteristics including performance, scalability, and operability • Continue learning and inject advanced technical knowledge into the engineering community • Manage several projects simultaneously and maximize impact • Mentor engineers and strengthen technical expertise across engineering and product communities • Modernize monolithic systems into microservice architectures and event-driven platforms • Collaborate with senior engineering and architecture leaders on long-term platform strategy and API standards • Provide hands-on technical contribution while mentoring and elevating peers and junior engineers • Lead cross-divisional projects promoting technological best practices and enhancements • Create communications, code samples, blog posts, and other knowledge-sharing materials

🎯 Anforderungen

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering) • At least 7 years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture, enterprise architecture and design patterns, cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud), and data architecture • Preferred: Master's Degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering • Preferred: 10+ years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture, enterprise architecture and design patterns, web technologies, designing and building distributed HPC and ML systems, cloud computing, and data architecture • Preferred: 10+ years of professional coding experience in commonly used languages such as Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, or Scala • Preferred: 8+ years of experience with databases and database management systems • Preferred: 10+ years of professional experience across the full system development lifecycle • Preferred: 5+ years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies • Preferred: 10+ years of experience with networking protocols and third-party distributed-system integration • Preferred: 5+ years mentoring senior engineers and driving professional development within technical teams • Preferred: 2+ years leading cross-domain architectural reviews and establishing coding and design standards • Expertise in the strategic application of agentic AI coding tools • Capital One will consider sponsoring a new qualified applicant for employment authorization
