Beschreibung

• Collaborate with physicians to evaluate patient needs and recommend prosthetic and/or orthotic treatment options • Examine and evaluate patients in relation to disease and functional loss • Formulate designs for prosthetic and/or orthotic devices • Select materials, take cast measurements, modify models, and prepare layouts • Perform fitting, including static and dynamic alignments • Evaluate, adjust, and ensure device fit, function, medical efficacy, and quality • Instruct patients in the use of prosthetic and/or orthotic devices • Identify and resolve device issues to ensure patient satisfaction • Provide follow-up with patients and physicians • Provide in-service training to physicians and allied health professionals • Manage materials, quality, performance, costs, and operational/financial performance • Develop referral relationships with physicians, case managers, and other referral sources • Implement strategies to meet and exceed revenue targets • Provide detailed clinical notes in patient records • Mentor residents or newly certified clinicians • Assist other clinical staff and administrative staff with reimbursement activities • Comply with safety, Medicare, governmental, bloodborne, and OSHA requirements • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned • May perform on-call or hospital calls, or float between Hanger Clinic locations

🎯 Anforderungen

• Current board certification in Prosthetics and/or Orthotics from ABC or BOC; alternatively, a baccalaureate degree in prosthetics and/or orthotics (or foreign equivalent) and current ABC Board-Eligibility • Valid driver’s license and driving record meeting Hanger’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedures • Ability to obtain and maintain state licensure where required • Candidates certified in one discipline may be considered while completing residency in the other discipline • Candidates who are not certified or board-eligible may be considered with at least 5 years of demonstrated experience providing prosthetic and/or orthotic services under a certified clinician’s supervision • Thorough understanding of biomechanics, pathomechanics, gait analysis, kinesiology, anatomy and physiology • Thorough understanding of componentry and suitability/reliability for specific uses • Thorough understanding of medical terminology • Effective oral and written communication and reporting skills • Ability to instruct clinical and non-clinical personnel and customers • Active listening, reading, and comprehension skills • Ability to assess patient condition and advise physicians on treatment options • Ability to build professional relationships with physicians, therapists, and patients • Ability to work effectively as a team member • Effective organizational, time management, and planning skills • Ability to lift patients using biomedical techniques and lift 50 pounds independently • Ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach constantly during the workday • Adequate near and distant visual acuity • Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions • Ability to push wheeled equipment throughout the facility • Fine motor skills for scheduling and preparing patients, equipment, and supplies • Ability to participate in sustained activities for many hours in accordance with state labor laws • Additional upper-limb care experience or Spanish language skills are a plus, not required
