Beschreibung

• Own uptime, performance, and resilience across NBA platform services • Identify and resolve bottlenecks, failure points, and scaling constraints before incidents occur • Write and ship production code alongside the team as a significant individual contributor • Build and maintain automated testing infrastructure across unit, integration, and end-to-end layers • Establish testing standards and ensure delivery pods hand off code meeting quality standards • Own logging, alerting, and monitoring infrastructure and maintain production visibility • Design and enforce error handling patterns across platform services • Evaluate platform components under load and lead scalability efforts as member volume and data throughput grow • Define and enforce quality gates for safely moving code from delivery to production • Manage quality and reliability engineers and contractor resources within the pod • Set expectations, review work, and uphold engineering standards • Coordinate with delivery pod leads to identify quality and reliability concerns early • Ensure the NBA platform is production-ready, scalable, resilient, well-tested, and observable

🎯 Anforderungen

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field • 2+ years of project leadership experience • 6+ years of full stack software engineering experience, including at least 1–2 years focused on platform reliability, software quality, or site reliability engineering • 8+ years of progressive tech experience as a senior developer in large tech projects • Hands-on experience building and owning testing infrastructure, including automated test suites, integration testing, load testing, and end-to-end coverage • Strong understanding of observability practices, including structured logging, distributed tracing, metrics, and alerting • Experience designing and enforcing error handling and failure management patterns across distributed systems • Proven ability to lead a small team or pod through delivery and manage contractor resources • Comfortable working across Java, Python, Node.js, and TypeScript • Strong communication skills to articulate quality risk to engineering leads and senior leadership • Passion for contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences • Comfort using AI productivity tools such as Claude or Copilot • Must work from a dedicated space without ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI/HIPAA information • Home internet service must provide at least 25 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload • Strong plus: experience with Kubernetes-based platforms and container-level reliability and scaling • Strong plus: familiarity with Kafka and event-driven architectures • Strong plus: background in healthcare, insurance, or regulated industries • Strong plus: experience with chaos engineering or fault injection testing • Strong plus: familiarity with Azure DevOps pipelines and CI/CD quality gates • Master's degree is a strong plus • Boston, MA residence is a strong plus
