Beschreibung

• Plan and execute a comprehensive grassroots advocacy program across Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont • Attract, develop, maintain, and engage volunteer leaders • Develop and implement grassroots strategies and campaign plans for local, state, and federal legislative priorities • Support volunteers in achieving fundraising goals • Develop local and state grassroots strategies and advocacy campaigns with the state Government Relations Director • Support federal campaigns and congressional champion building • Organize volunteers for federal activities with national teams • Write and disseminate volunteer emails, legislative alerts, issue talking points, and training curriculum • Plan and manage Cancer Action lobby days and similar virtual or in-person events • Maintain ACS CAN webpages, Facebook pages, and other social media accounts • Identify and develop volunteers with personal stories related to policy campaigns • Manage the volunteer structure and fill vacancies across the assigned geography • Implement Direct-Action Organizing principles for state legislative campaigns • Coordinate activities with grassroots and patient coalition partners and regional and national teams • Represent ACS CAN and its mission according to organizational brand standards • Establish and maintain strategic collaborations and partnerships • Lead electoral activity through Cancer Votes while adhering to IRS and ACS CAN legal and reporting requirements • Attract, train, develop, communicate with, and recognize volunteers • Maintain relationships with grasstops and grassroots volunteers • Facilitate volunteer advocacy and relationships with elected officials and staff • Conduct training for volunteers and ACS staff • Maintain volunteer information in databases such as Salesforce • Drive volunteer fundraising and support volunteer-led events, Lights of Hope, policy forums, and other fundraising activities • Travel within assigned states for legislative campaigns, strategic meetings, and stakeholder engagement, with up to 20% travel including overnight and occasional weekend travel

🎯 Anforderungen

• Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of relevant work experience • Political issues or campaign organizing experience strongly preferred • Experience attracting, developing, and engaging volunteers preferred • Fundraising experience is a plus • Experience using Salesforce, Every Action, or similar tools is a plus • Experience or familiarity with fundamentals of Direct Action Organizing is a plus • Strong written, oral, interpersonal, computer, and social media skills are required • Highly organized orientation and time management skills are required • Ability to handle multiple projects, work independently with minimum direction, and work as a member or leader of a team • Ability to work on fast-paced, time-sensitive matters with internal and external constituents • Ability to establish, hold meetings, and maintain effective working relationships with state and federal legislative officials • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse individuals and communities • Ability to complete work in multiple venues and state political environments in a timely and efficient manner and ensure work is accurate • Ability to utilize available technology to perform position responsibilities • Ability to travel by car, train, or plane as needed • Ability to regularly travel and work within the communities of Maine, New Hampshire, or Vermont as needed
