Beschreibung

• Provide senior legal advice to European leadership on new products, licensing structures and regulatory strategy • Own cross-functional legal counselling for EU product launches from discovery through design, launch and iteration • Advise on regulatory perimeter and classification across MiFID II, MiFIR, MiCA, EMIR, payment services, electronic money and banking regulation • Advise on payments and electronic money offerings, including card and account propositions, safeguarding, open banking and account-access obligations • Advise on EU banking matters, including bank partnerships, sponsor-bank arrangements, deposit-taking, lending, capital requirements, custody, prime brokerage and financing • Monitor and interpret EU legislative and supervisory developments and participate in consultations and industry association work • Draft and negotiate client-facing terms and conditions • Gatekeep EU outside counsel engagements, including scoping, cost management and approvals • Mentor junior lawyers, set plain-English and risk-based advice standards, and support the Regulatory Legal team • Use AI-assisted tools for regulatory analysis, drafting, matter tracking and self-service legal tools • Advise on AML/CTF, the Transfer of Funds Regulation, market abuse, conduct, outsourcing, operational resilience and DORA • Lead or oversee EU licensing, authorisation and variation workstreams, including regulator interactions

🎯 Anforderungen

• Qualified lawyer admitted in Ireland, England and Wales, or another European Union Member State • 15 or more years' post-qualification experience in financial services regulatory law • Experience at a regulated financial services institution or leading law firm supporting such clients • Ideally, in-house or direct product counselling experience • Deep, current knowledge of several relevant regulatory areas, with real depth in at least two: MiFID II/MiFIR, MiCA, European Union payment services and electronic money regulation, or European Union banking regulation • Ability to analyse novel products against overlapping regulatory regimes and advise on classification and perimeter • Direct experience managing senior regulator relationships, including notifications, information requests, supervisory correspondence and examinations • Working knowledge of anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, outsourcing and operational resilience obligations, including DORA • Experience instructing, supervising and managing outside counsel costs across multiple jurisdictions • Outstanding analytical, drafting and organisational skills • Ability to provide clear, actionable guidance to non-lawyer stakeholders and senior leadership • Pragmatic, commercially accountable approach to legal and regulatory risk • Experience mentoring or managing lawyers • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-moving, remote environment • Familiarity with AI tools such as Enterprise GPTs • Nice to have: experience with tokenised securities, the EU Distributed Ledger Technology Pilot Regime, EMIR, prime brokerage, securities financing, margin lending, institutional custody, UK cryptoasset regulation, corporate transaction regulatory matters, EU data protection and consumer protection rules, a second European language, and crypto/digital assets
