Beschreibung

• Analyse and assess legacy applications, primarily developed in CA Gen • Execute application migration projects using automation tooling • Apply technical fixes and enhancements throughout the migration process • Define migration approaches for database access, online transactions, batch processing, user interfaces, and application components • Support phased migration strategies • Deliver migrations to native COBOL environments including CICS, IMS-DC and DB2, and modern technology stacks including Java, .NET, Spring Boot, Angular and cloud platforms • Validate converted applications for functional equivalence, maintainability and performance • Document migration standards, reusable patterns and technical processes • Work with technical leadership to define migration strategies and delivery roadmaps • Support technical proposals and Statements of Work • Explain migration approaches and project outcomes to customers and technical stakeholders • Contribute to continuous improvement of migration tooling and modernisation practices

🎯 Anforderungen

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or any related technical field • Strong commercial experience with CA Gen (Cool:Gen) • Experience with application migration, legacy modernisation or application re-platforming • Experience analysing Gen Models, Action Diagrams, Business Components, Data Models and Data Structures • Experience with online transaction processing and batch processing • Experience with relational database access and performance tuning • Experience with UI design and implementation • Experience working in mainframe environments, including exposure to 3270 block-mode applications • Experience with one or more of COBOL (CICS, IMS-DC and DB2), Java, .NET, Spring Boot, Angular or cloud platforms • Experience using or implementing automation tooling for application migration or conversion • Experience working with XML or model extraction as part of migration projects • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities • Good communication skills with technical and business stakeholders • Collaborative approach focused on delivery and continuous improvement • Strong English communication skills, written and verbal • MigrationWorks or similar application migration tooling is awesome but not required • Experience supporting structured Gen conversion or regeneration programmes is awesome but not required • Experience delivering migrations across multiple target platforms is awesome but not required • Mainframe tooling including ISPF, JCL, SPUFI and SCLM is awesome but not required • CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps are awesome but not required • Experience contributing to migration frameworks, automation tooling or application modernisation initiatives is awesome but not required • Experience modernising enterprise applications to cloud or hybrid environments is awesome but not required
