• Lead and provide strategic direction for Commercial Sales, including sales strategies, productivity, sales training and effectiveness, and achievement of performance targets and budgeted sales goals • Directly manage, develop, and supervise assigned Territory Managers • Ensure Territory Managers implement processes within the local geography using approved sales and marketing resources • Develop and implement Regional business plans and budgets • Maintain responsibility for regional action plans • Review performance metrics with the National Sales Director • Plan and conduct Sales Team meetings • Provide leadership by developing and inspiring the Sales Team • Work with leadership and Market Access to maximize reimbursement from commercial and government payers • Create and manage Regional plans covering message, reach and frequency, and budget goals • Set goals and targets • Evaluate account management performance against budget • Allocate resources cost-effectively and provide appropriate management reporting • Work in the field three to four days per week with assigned Territory Managers • Complete Field Coaching Reports within 48-72 hours • Hold office hours on days out of the field • Complete training and policy requirements on time • Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies for the role, team, and vendors • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned • Report to the National Sales Director
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; pharmaceutical sales management experience may be substituted • 8+ years of pharmaceutical sales experience preferred, or equivalent medical sales experience may be substituted • 3+ years of sales management experience in a U.S. pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical organization preferred • 2+ years of Cardiology experience, including Statin, PCSK9, and NOAC launch experience preferred • Proven track record of successfully launching new products and/or indications and building sales teams • Well-developed leadership skills and ability to influence people at all levels inside and outside the organization • Demonstrated success commercializing new products and/or expanding commercial opportunities for existing products • Ability to set priorities, allocate resources, take accountability, and achieve results • Proven ability to build strong, diverse teams with multiple perspectives and talents • Experience creating highly motivated cross-functional teams • Excellent presentation and communication skills • Ability to influence and work successfully with customers, colleagues, scientific and technical leaders, pharmaceutical and business partners, collaborators, and senior executives • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills • Must live within the assigned Southwest region: California or Arizona • Ability to travel up to 50%-60%, including overnight stays
