• Develop and maintain relationships with banks, credit unions, and financial institutions within assigned territory. • Position Verus as a trusted wholesale lending partner for non-Agency and Jumbo loan solutions. • Build relationships with key stakeholders including retail lending leaders, mortgage departments, loan officers, and secondary marketing contacts. • Navigate institutional onboarding, approval, and partnership processes as needed. • Identify and pursue opportunities to establish new institutional referral and wholesale origination relationships. • Proactively source new business opportunities through networking, market analysis, industry events, and direct outreach. • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective institutional partners. • Drive production growth and market penetration within assigned territory. • Educate institutional partners on Verus’ products, underwriting philosophy, and dedicated support resources available to assist throughout the loan process. • Promote Verus' operational strengths, responsiveness, and partner support model to build confidence and long-term relationships. • Collaborate closely with underwriting, operations, account management, and internal sales teams to ensure smooth loan execution. • Partner with internal teams to ensure institutional relationships are supported effectively throughout the lending process. • Represent Verus at industry conferences, trade associations, and networking events.
• 5+ years of experience in mortgage banking, wholesale lending, business development, or institutional sales. • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related field preferred. • Strong understanding of non-Agency, Jumbo, and wholesale mortgage lending. • Existing relationships within banks, credit unions, or financial institutions strongly preferred. • Proven track record of developing new business and growing production volume. • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. • Ability to work independently in a production-driven sales environment. • Strong organizational and relationship management abilities. • Knowledge of mortgage industry regulations and compliance standards.
