Description

• Monitor legislative, regulatory, and political developments across Nautilus' priority markets, with a primary focus on the Northeast • Analyze proposed legislation, regulatory proceedings, commission orders, and utility filings to identify business impacts and emerging opportunities • Prepare policy memoranda, legislative summaries, briefing materials, and strategic recommendations for executive leadership • Develop and maintain tracking systems for legislation, rulemakings, stakeholder engagement, advocacy priorities, policy databases, and market trackers • Support state-specific government affairs strategies; identify market opportunities and policy risks; and assist with legislative priorities, advocacy strategies, and regulatory positions • Conduct political and stakeholder analysis to support long-term business planning • Coordinate with lobbyists, trade associations, coalition partners, consultants, and external advisors • Prepare materials for coalition meetings, legislative visits, regulatory engagements, conferences, policy events, and stakeholder outreach • Support participation in state and national trade associations • Work with Legal, Development, Origination, Business Development, Finance, and Operations to align business objectives and government affairs strategy • Support executive leadership with policy briefings and decision memoranda

🎯 Exigences

• Currently in the final year of a master's program or has completed a master's degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Political Science, Environmental Policy, Energy Policy, Government Affairs, or a closely related field • Three to five years of experience in government affairs, public policy, legislative affairs, regulatory affairs, political strategy, or a related area • Legislative or regulatory experience, including experience working for or with a lawmaker, state legislature, regulatory commission, public utility commission, executive agency, or similar organization • Energy or electricity-sector experience is strongly valued • Demonstrated understanding of state legislative and regulatory processes and how legislation and regulation can affect market-based business decisions • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing executive-level briefing materials • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and project management skills • Ability to manage multiple policy initiatives across several states and work independently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment • Prior knowledge of community solar, distributed energy resources, distributed generation, virtual net metering, or utility regulation • Experience working in or with the clean energy industry, trade associations, state legislatures, public utility commissions, or executive agencies • Experience synthesizing legislative and regulatory developments into strategic recommendations for executive leadership • The Northeast is preferred, particularly candidates based in Boston, New York, or Philadelphia
