Description

• Manage and grow revenue from a portfolio of current and prospective corporate partners and complex institutional accounts with annual revenue of $500k+ to RMI • Support all aspects of partner relationships, including coordinating conversations, preparing outreach, submitting proposals and reports, and responding to inquiries • Create partner touchpoints through meetings, proactive outreach, briefings, meeting content, and follow-up • Provide leadership with updates on partner conversations, pipelines, opportunities, and relationship status • Support corporate engagement strategies and cases for support with programmatic staff • Research partners’ sustainability priorities, climate commitments, business context, philanthropic interests, and partnership goals • Identify, qualify, solicit, and steward corporate prospects capable of making five-, six-, and seven-figure commitments • Educate and engage corporate partners and prospects on RMI’s program portfolio • Travel to meet corporate partners and prospects at U.S. and global conferences, convenings, and partner meetings • Develop corporate proposals, partnership concepts, letters of inquiry, pitch materials, stewardship reports, and budgets • Collaborate with program, accounting, finance, legal, and communications teams on submissions and reports • Oversee or support timely stewardship reporting, including narrative, impact, and financial reports • Resolve partner-requested edits to proposals, budgets, scopes of work, and reporting materials • Review proposal budgets and partnership deliverables for alignment with requirements • Work with program teams to align RMI’s work with corporate partners’ priorities • Prepare briefings, strategic plans, talking points, and communications materials for partner meetings • Serve as Development or Corporate Engagement contact for one to two RMI programs • Provide guidance on corporate-facing materials and partner engagement • Inform teams of program updates, partner intelligence, market trends, and strategic opportunities • Use Salesforce to document moves management, pipelines, relationship history, opportunity stages, projections, and status • Use Monday.com or other project management systems to track deadlines • Maintain accurate records of interactions, next steps, deliverables, commitments, and risks • Cover accounts for colleagues and provide surge support as needed • Participate in team meetings and initiatives • Support development and corporate engagement objectives and contribute to organizational strategy

🎯 Exigences

• Bachelor’s degree • 5-10+ years of experience in nonprofit development, corporate engagement, partnerships, business development, institutional fundraising, sustainability, climate, energy, or relationship management • 5+ years of experience managing corporate, foundation, institutional, or other complex external relationships • Track record of cultivating, soliciting, closing, and stewarding significant corporate, philanthropic, sponsorship, grant, or partnership commitments • Track record of securing at least five-figure contributions, grants, sponsorships, or partnership commitments; six-figure and larger commitments strongly preferred • Experience managing proposal, grant, or partnership development processes involving multiple stakeholders • Experience writing successful grant applications, proposals, pitch materials, concept notes, or partnership narratives • Experience working successfully with top-level executives in a fast-paced environment • Knowledge of and passion for RMI’s mission • Knowledge of nonprofit organization principles and practices • Strong understanding of corporate engagement, strategic partnerships, corporate philanthropy, sustainability commitments, and complex relationship management • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to translate technical programmatic work into compelling corporate-facing narratives • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, Board members, partners, funding partners, community groups, and associated agencies • Ability to navigate a complicated corporate and philanthropic funding environment and change course quickly • Ability to manage multiple complex projects, relationships, deadlines, and deliverables • Strong judgment and discretion in external relationship and reputational management • Current, independent authorization to work in the U.S. without present or future sponsorship from RMI • Environment, climate, sustainability, science, or energy experience strongly desired • Corporate sustainability, climate commitments, philanthropy, or strategic partnerships experience strongly preferred • International experience desired but not required
