Description

• Refactor and migrate legacy web applications onto a DoD software factory with little to no downtime • Engineer software with researchers, designers, product managers, and other engineers • Advocate for and adhere to lean-agile practices including simple design, continuous integration, version control, and automated testing • Analyze systems for technical debt, instability, and improvement opportunities • Design, document, and communicate technical solutions • Explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders in a complex, multi-vendor environment • Pair with and coach government engineers and incoming military developers • Learn current program-office delivery processes and identify testing and security bottlenecks • Coach government partners to sustain modern practices after Skylight’s engagement

🎯 Exigences

• Ability to write clean, working, and reusable code • Can produce high-quality code by adhering to good practices such as automated testing • Familiar with how to build secure, compliant software and defend against common vulnerabilities • Foundational understanding of data engineering, including use of various datastores to handle persistent data • Understanding of software system components and how to fit them together while considering performance, reliability, and availability • User-centered approach to software development • Experience shipping production software in a modern web stack, including refactoring or migrating legacy web applications • Experience working in a government or regulated environment with formal security authorization (ATO) • Experience working on cross-functional teams in iterative delivery • Track record of staying aligned and accountable on remote teams • Work approach aligned with Skylight’s core values • All work must be conducted within the U.S., excluding U.S. territories • U.S. citizenship required for employment eligibility • Ability to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC) and any special access required for the contract • Successful completion of a company background check • Some available federal-contract roles require a degree or additional years of experience as a substitute
