Description

• Own project design delivery from initial brief through detailed design • Provide design support through procurement, construction, commissioning and handover • Establish and maintain the project design brief with customers and internal teams • Develop and manage design delivery programmes, packages, reviews, approvals and information release • Coordinate planning, permitting and statutory approval design inputs • Lead external design partners across all disciplines and manage performance against quality, programme and budget expectations • Apply Volta’s Reference Design and engineering standards to each project • Lead multidisciplinary coordination across civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, controls and GPU compute infrastructure • Coordinate project design matters with customers and internal stakeholders • Plan and lead design reviews and stage gates, tracking comments, actions and approvals to closure • Support technical tender evaluations and incorporate supplier and contractor design information • Embed construction sequencing, prefabrication, modular delivery, access, logistics and maintainability into designs • Manage design changes through change control and secure approvals • Coordinate technical queries, design clarifications, submittals and proposed changes during construction • Incorporate testing, commissioning, maintenance and handover requirements into designs • Champion health and safety through design reviews • Maintain visibility of design risks, assumptions, interfaces and decisions and report design status to project leadership

🎯 Exigences

• A degree in engineering, architecture, construction or equivalent relevant experience • Significant experience managing multidisciplinary design delivery for large scale data centres, AI factories or similarly complex infrastructure • A track record of taking projects from concept through detailed design and supporting procurement, construction, commissioning and handover • Strong understanding of the interfaces between building infrastructure, power, cooling, controls and compute, including the requirements of high-density AI and GPU facilities • Experience translating customer, product and operational requirements into clear design briefs and coordinated project deliverables • Proven ability to lead external consultants and coordinate internal technical specialists, suppliers and contractors around a common delivery programme • Experience managing design programmes, consultant scopes and fees, stage gate reviews, design changes and technical information release • Understanding of adapting reference designs to site conditions, local requirements and project-specific needs • Strong commercial judgement balancing design quality, capex, schedule, constructability, reliability and operability • Familiarity with BIM coordination, common data environments and document control processes • Experience integrating offsite manufacturing, prefabrication and DFMA into coordinated project designs and delivery programmes • Willingness to travel periodically to project sites, customer meetings and design partner locations across EMEA • Right to work in the country where the role is based
