📋 Description

• Manage racing events, set competitive prices and apply risk strategies for international racing markets • Provide overnight coverage for B2C and B2B trading operations while daytime teams are offline • Build and configure racing events and betting markets in trading systems • Manage odds pricing through automated model adjustments and manual pricing • Execute over-round targets and business-defined betting strategies • Monitor bet settlement and resolve settlement discrepancies • Triage technical issues, perform first-line investigation and resolution, and escalate higher-priority incidents • Document technical issues, actions and escalations for follow-up and shift handovers • Take risk measures to reduce liability exposure and maximize revenue opportunities • Monitor market signals, customer behavior and multiple racing meetings and bet types • Use data analytics to guide pricing decisions and trading strategies • Detect and escalate suspicious betting patterns with internal teams, regulators and partners • Work with third-party service providers to resolve trading-related queries and maintain service reliability • Communicate with fellow Traders to share insights and ensure market coverage • Manage Freshdesk support tickets and communicate issues and resolutions to customers • Provide structured shift handovers covering open markets, liabilities, outstanding tickets and escalations • Manage race status, including non-runners, and inform customers • Perform other duties as assigned • 1/ST Technology provides B2B and B2C wagering and betting infrastructure for horse racing and casino industries

🎯 Requirements

• Two (2) years of experience in risk trading, sportsbook or odds compilation roles, ideally focused on Racing • Strong knowledge of global horse racing, including US, Australia, South Africa, UK/Ireland and Asian circuits • Strong knowledge of betting markets, trading systems and pricing strategies • Understanding of betting theory and bookmaking, including overrounds, arbitrage and percentages • Analytical mindset with experience interpreting data to drive decisions • Awareness of betting compliance standards and responsible gaming principles • Knowledge of accurate race data processing across systems • Confident user of sportsbook platforms, back-office tools and Excel • Proficient in PC skills and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, OneDrive and Google Docs, formulas, formats and reporting functions • Exceptional verbal and written communication, time management and stakeholder-handling skills • Ability to work with Customer Service, Network Operations, vendors and customers • Strong customer service skills and professionalism in complex situations • Ability to work with cross-functional teams spanning multiple US, Canada and international locations • Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations and a fast-paced environment • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously • Self-starter, self-motivator, detail-oriented and highly organized • Willingness to work non-standard hours and whatever hours necessary to meet goals • Structured problem-solving and expert prioritization skills • Technical confidence to triage system issues and determine when and how to escalate • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with limited supervision overnight • Willingness and ability to work a rotating 4 days on / 4 days off night-shift pattern • Preferred: knowledge of technology, horse racing, regulations, fixed-odds and/or pari-mutuel wagering, gaming, sports wagering or start-up environments • Preferred: experience with trading platforms, proprietary risk-management systems, global racing markets, Freshdesk or other ticketing platforms, B2B sportsbook solutions or trading APIs • Preferred: familiarity with risk or integrity frameworks from UKGC, MGA, IBIA, Racing Victoria, BHA or TJK • Preferred: scripting/query tools such as Python, R or SQL; algorithmic trading, pricing models or trading automation; night or rotating shift experience
