📋 Description

• Design and deliver firewall/security layers for AWS, OCI, and on-premises hybrid connectivity • Own route/prefix and policy design across cloud and on-premises boundaries • Partner with security operations, cloud, and platform teams on migration security design • Translate application, database, and cloud connectivity requests into standardized firewall policies • Drive firewall changes through the change-management process with implementation, testing, and rollback plans • Peer-review firewall changes and maintain consistent, auditable policies across sites • Lead migrations from legacy Cisco and Juniper platforms to FortiGate • Plan and execute quarterly firewall software upgrades and hardware refreshes • Manage IPsec/site-to-site migrations and firewall decommissioning • Triage and resolve connectivity incidents, including dropped traffic, TLS failures, VPN outages, and firewall failovers • Own the out-of-band management network for firewalls • Integrate firewalls with FortiAnalyzer, SIEM log forwarding, netflow, and SNMP • Help remediate misconfiguration and risk findings

🎯 Requirements

• Hands-on FortiGate / FortiOS expertise: VDOMs, security policy, NAT, SSL inspection, FortiAnalyzer, and FortiConverter • Cloud network security: firewall/connectivity design in AWS (TGW, VPC, GWLB) and/or OCI, including hybrid on-prem↔cloud flows • Disciplined change management: implementation, testing, and rollback planning, plus peer review • Strong connectivity troubleshooting across the packet path, including drops, TLS, DNS, and routing • Ability to work directly with application, database, cloud, and security teams to turn requirements into secure, standardized policy • Preferred: experience using AI services/assistants in an engineering workflow • Preferred: network automation using Ansible, AWX, or similar • Preferred: SIEM / observability tooling, including FortiAnalyzer, netflow, SNMP, and log pipelines • Preferred: multi-site WAN and data-center networking experience • Preferred: scripting, such as Python, for tooling and validation • Preferred: exposure to security frameworks and audit/misconfiguration remediation
