📋 Description

• Manage engineers with systems and software responsibilities on Acquia's Next Generation Cloud team • Lead a high performing team and drive technical outcomes, prioritization, and continuous improvement • Operate within a large organization as a team player and form partnerships with Product Managers and other departments • Drive change by identifying bottlenecks, resolving blockers, and leading improvement opportunities • Oversee quality engineering, DevOps, CI/CD, release management, and testing strategies • Perform hands-on technical work as needed with Kubernetes, AWS, Linux, Docker, Jenkins, and infrastructure-as-code concepts • Ensure delivery of engineering value to delight customers and meet business goals • Mentor and develop team members, encourage positive culture and work/life balance

🎯 Requirements

• Experience leading teams and people responsible for systems and software • Knowledge of Agile practices and software development lifecycle methodologies • Experience with effective product engineering practices • Familiar with project management concepts • Ability to drive change through identifying bottlenecks, resolving blockers, and leading improvement opportunities • Experience with quality engineering, DevOps, and CI/CD • Ability to form good partnerships with Product Managers, Product Owners, and other departments • Active listening skills • Effective communicator • Leadership skills and a positive, can-do attitude • Emphasizes work/life balance and team morale • Ability to break down complex problems into smaller, concrete steps and outcomes • Committed to a positive culture • Background in technically relevant areas • Facilitating cross-team collaboration through RFCs, reviews, and historical work • Background in systems maintenance, automation, release management, and testing strategies • Desire to perform technical work on an as-needed basis • Experience with Kubernetes (or similar container tech like Mesos/Docker Swarm/ECS/Fargate/etc) and AWS experience • 6+ years of working within a team focused on cloud systems and development • 4+ years hands-on experience building similar solutions • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline preferred • Proven delivery skills working with software engineering teams in an Agile environment • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
