📋 Description

• Provide day-to-day technical assistance on quality-control and transcode workflows • Support delivery and quality control of video content across TV and digital platforms • Troubleshoot streaming, encoding and customer issues for clients and partners • Participate in an on-call rota for occasional out-of-hours support • Configure complex media workflows • Work with engineering to integrate and optimise digital media usage • Explore possible uses of AI to increase team delivery capabilities • Shadow senior peers and take on increasingly complex engineering challenges • Create documentation and content in multiple formats • Share knowledge and train peers • Support Telestream Vidchecker and Vantage products, escalating complex issues to senior peers • Resolve customer support tickets and technical queries within agreed timeframes • Create custom workflows and integration tests • Create, maintain and update QC profiles using tools such as Vidchecker • Create, maintain and update transcode profiles using tools such as Vantage • Increase automation across the Media management platform • Build and maintain a comprehensive library of video test assets for feature development, testing and validation • Undertake other duties reasonably required to support team objectives

🎯 Requirements

• Right to work in the UK • Some hands-on exposure to video workflows through study, personal projects, internships or an entry-level role is welcome • Comfortable participating in an on-call rota for occasional out-of-hours support • Working knowledge of video formatting requirements for TV and digital platforms, including codecs, wrappers, frame rates, aspect ratios and closed captions/subtitles • Basic understanding of UK broadcast industry delivery standards, such as DPP and BBC/ITV/Channel 4 specifications • Understanding of subtitle formats • Baseline understanding of video formats, containers and codecs, including ProRes, XDCAM, AVCi and MXF/MOV • Familiarity with transcoding tools such as Telestream Vantage, FFmpeg or cloud-based encoding services is a strong plus • Windows Administration experience is desirable • Knowledge of version control, especially Git, is desirable • Basic scripting abilities, such as PowerShell, Batch or Python • Some hands-on experience with QC tools such as Vidchecker, Baton, Interra or similar is desirable • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Customer-focused approach and strong attention to detail • Growth mindset and openness to feedback • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills • Ability to work across departments as part of a small, fully remote team • Comfortable working 100% remotely with an appropriate home working environment and possible customer interactions • Relevant qualification or coursework in video/broadcast engineering or a related field is a plus, but not essential
