• Oversee and develop the department’s engineering capabilities in alignment with business needs • Serve as the key liaison between the technical and business development activities • Provide strategic vision to improve the I&G department’s technical resources by identifying strategic hires and implementing continuous improvement techniques • Provide input to I&G Director for annual budgets and business planning, staff utilization, department resource needs, and indirect expenses • Work with Team Leaders and I&G Leadership to anticipate future resource and staff needs and optimize department staff utilization • Review and approve labor cost estimates and establish/manage indirect costs associated with I&G Technical department • Identify and provide resources for respective teams; support Team Leaders in acquiring/managing assets and hiring/retaining staff • Develop staffing plans with Capture Manager to support proposed projects and report staffing/utilization trends and forecasts • Train and mentor Team Leaders and staff; conduct performance reviews of Team Leaders • Establish department standards and work processes consistent with AECOM standards and lead continuous improvement efforts • Ensure project activities comply with engineering practices and applicable States’ Engineering Board rules and guidelines • Lead post-project benchmarking to identify and share lessons learned • Communicate with staff to ensure corporate, office and department information is known and understood • Promote and ensure a safe work environment • Review and approve timesheets of Team Leaders
• BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership • 10 years of relevant engineering experience within industrial, refineries and/or power facilities • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license • 5+ years experience in team supervision (preferred) • 7+ years as technical lead on industrial or power generation projects (preferred) • Physical design experience for industrial facilities (preferred) • Demonstrated experience in planning and coordinating engineering and design for complex, multi-discipline programs/projects and teams (preferred) • Demonstrated experience in work process standardization and continuous improvement of engineering work product development (preferred) • Demonstrated experience in resource planning (labor forecasting, hiring, staff planning, labor cost estimating) (preferred) • Experience in supporting business development activities, including proposal work scope development and contributing in prospective client meetings and presentations when needed (preferred) • Experience on full EPC, Design/Build projects from start to finish (preferred) • Experience in workshare with international engineering resource centers (preferred) • Field construction support and commissioning experience (preferred) • Expert familiarity with industry codes and standards in their respective discipline (preferred) • Familiarity with engineering analysis software (ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, STAAD, Fathom, Caesar) (preferred) • Experience working in collaborative 3D model environments (e.g. Plant 3D, Navisworks) and laser scan data (preferred) • Authorization: Sponsorship is not available for this role (must be authorized to work without sponsorship)
