📋 Description

• Manage a team of machine learning engineers building models for credit lending decisions across Europe and Australia • Set the team's technical strategy and connect engineers' work to business-impacting underwriting projects • Define and advocate for technical solutions and operational processes • Collaborate with product management, design, analytics, risk, and engineering across the product development lifecycle • Ensure technical sustainability, risks, and trade-offs are understood and managed • Develop talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example • Design, implement, and scale advanced machine learning solutions • Contribute to Affirm's long-term machine learning strategy

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's in a technical field • 8+ years of industry experience • 3+ years managing engineers • Background in financial services, specifically in credit / lending • Proficiency in machine learning, including tree-based models, transformers, deep learning, and agentic ML • Strong engineering skills • Ability to provide hands-on technical leadership while working with code and architecture • Ability to work from low-level language idioms through architecture of large systems
