📋 Description

• Own and deliver quarterly goals for the team • Lead engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems and support them throughout delivery • Collaborate with product management, design and analytics throughout the product development lifecycle • Participate in ideation and articulate technical constraints • Partner on decisions considering risks and trade-offs • Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology and business issues • Create and monitor metrics supporting operations and availability • Escalate issues and support keep-the-lights-on and on-call efforts • Set and improve code review and design standards • Advocate for engineering standards through writing and tech talks • Develop talent through feedback, guidance and leading by example • Write Kotlin and Python code, ship features, investigate production issues and maintain system reliability • Reduce toil, create playbooks, mentor engineers, support new hires and interns, and contribute to hiring

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing and launching backend systems at scale • Experience using Python or Kotlin • Track record developing highly available distributed systems • Experience with AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes • Experience defining technical plans for significant features or system components • Elegant, simple and extensible system design skills • High-quality coding practices • Proficiency making significant changes in a large code base • Tools and practices enabling safe codebase changes • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Ability to collaborate with a global engineering team
