📋 Description

• Spearhead LLM agents, real-time anomaly detectors, and other AI solutions • Collaborate with product, engineering, operations, and data science teams to identify opportunities and refine AI/ML requirements • Make architecture decisions and measure business value using data-driven metrics • Design, train, deploy, and operate large-scale AI applications for batch and streaming workloads • Ensure low latency, high reliability, and continuous improvement through automated monitoring and retraining loops • Mentor teammates and foster an experimentation-driven environment • Help establish standards for model governance, continuous learning, and engineering excellence • Contribute to Airbnb’s broader AI strategy and payments ecosystem

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of industry experience in applied AI/ML, inclusive MS or PhD in relevant fields • Strong programming skills in Python and Java • Strong data engineering skills • Prompt engineering, fine-tuning with LoRA and RLHF, hallucination mitigation, safety guardrails, and online/offline testing • Hands-on experience with at least three of: PyTorch/TensorFlow, scalable inference stacks, vector search, Kubeflow, Airflow, Spark, Ray, Kafka • Experience designing, deploying, and monitoring production AI systems • Experience with drift, cost, and latency monitoring and automated retraining triggers • Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into measurable AI impact • AI/ML applications in the Payments domain highly desirable • Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity
