📋 Description

• Own the client relationship, realization, utilization, NPS, retention, and growth for a full book of nonprofit clients • Serve as primary strategic advisor and relationship lead for Executive Directors, boards, and nonprofit leadership teams • Identify and proactively address account risks • Deliver accurate and timely financials on budget • Develop and implement strategic financial plans aligned with client missions and objectives • Lead board and finance committee presentations and financial reporting • Create financial models for program sustainability, growth decisions, and funding scenarios • Develop long-range cash forecasts, capital planning, and reserve strategy • Oversee grant strategy, funding diversification planning, and major funder relationship support • Guide restructuring, mergers, and strategic partnership planning • Maintain relationships with auditors, attorneys, bankers, and other external partners • Identify expansion opportunities within the existing client book • Lead, manage, and hold delivery team members accountable for relationships, metrics, quality, timeliness, capacity, and EOS commitments • Interview and assess candidates • Develop team members through feedback, coaching, and growth conversations • Deliver CFO services at high quality and strategic depth • Ensure the delivery team has direction, context, and support • Escalate relevant issues and people matters proactively to the Managing Director • Complete time tracking, capacity planning, and quarterly Rocks • Participate in the Brand Ambassador program • Uphold security practices protecting client assets and firm data

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field • CPA preferred • 12+ years of progressive financial leadership experience with nonprofits • Experience in a multi-client or Client Accounting Services (CAS) environment strongly preferred • Proven success in executive-level financial advisory and client relationship ownership • Deep expertise in nonprofit GAAP, fund accounting, audit management, and grant compliance • Demonstrated experience leading and developing accounting teams through LMA • Excellence in board-level communication and stakeholder engagement • Strong familiarity with EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) preferred • Ability to own client relationships, outcomes, and accountability • Ability to manage team capacity and escalate issues proactively • Ability to uphold security practices protecting client assets and firm data
