📋 Description

• Design and develop electrical wiring harnesses and Electrical Distribution Systems (EDS) • Create and maintain electrical schematics using SolidWorks Electrical • Produce and manage 3D electrical routing and harness models • Support the integration of electrical systems into product assemblies • Generate and maintain electrical design documentation, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BoMs) • Collaborate with mechanical, electronics, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful product integration • Support prototype build, testing, and validation activities • Implement design changes and maintain accurate configuration control throughout the product lifecycle • Support ALTEN activities within the clean energy and advanced technology sector as part of the Loughborough team • Work within a multidisciplinary engineering team on innovative products

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience • 2–4 years of experience in electrical design, EDS, or harness engineering • Experience supporting product development within an engineering environment • Experience designing wiring harnesses and electrical distribution systems • Proficiency with SolidWorks Electrical • Experience creating electrical schematics and wiring documentation • Understanding of 3D routing and harness modelling principles • Knowledge of electrical integration and system packaging considerations • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams • Good communication and problem-solving skills • Experience with electrical system integration and validation activities • Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes for wiring harnesses • Familiarity with CAD-based electrical routing tools • Experience within clean energy, automotive, aerospace, or advanced technology sectors • Understanding of product lifecycle management and engineering change control processes • This role may require you to have or be willing to go through Security Clearance • Candidates must complete a Baseline Personnel Security Standard as part of onboarding
