📋 Description

• Recruit, manage, mentor, and inspire a multidisciplinary renewable energy development engineering team • Foster trust, psychological safety, empathy, career development, and strong remote team relationships • Allocate engineering resources, manage workloads, and balance priorities across a national project pipeline • Own technical strategy, risk mitigation, and execution for complex multimillion-dollar energy projects • Partner with Sales Executives on business development and participate in customer meetings and presentations • Oversee technical proposals, system layouts, energy production estimates, equipment specifications, risk assessments, and schedules • Guide use of incentive programs to maximize project economics • Oversee development of solar PV, BESS, microgrid, and EV charging projects from feasibility through construction handoff • Oversee energy modeling, battery dispatch optimization, utility cost and rate analysis, and microgrid resiliency designs • Direct utility interconnection strategies and resolve complex issues with utilities, AHJs, engineers, and vendors • Review and approve financial models, project pricing, construction budgets, and schedules • Ensure technical handoff and provide guidance during procurement and construction • Oversee commissioning, project closeout, and post-construction savings evaluations • Improve engineering processes, design tools, and best practices for the remote engineering department

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related discipline • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in renewable energy project development, engineering design, or a related field • Track record leading utility-scale or complex commercial/industrial solar PV and/or BESS projects • Ability to review confidential US security information • Ability to lead empathetically, resolve conflicts, mentor remote staff, and build relationships with diverse customers • Entrepreneurial mindset; comfort with ambiguity, minimal oversight, and building processes from scratch • Strong experience with complex microgrid design, islanding configurations, grid services, and dispatch optimization modeling • Familiarity with or ability to guide teams using PVSyst, Helioscope, Aurora, Energy Toolbase, Xendee, and/or HOMER Pro • Advanced ability to analyze utility rate structures and validate NPV, IRR, and simple payback • Exceptional written and verbal communication for an asynchronous remote workplace • Ability to travel up to 25% for site visits, team alignment meetings, and customer presentations • PE license, NABCEP PV Installation/Technical Sales certification, or CEM strongly preferred
