📋 Description

• Join an Engineering team developing Arbor’s front-end library and React Native mobile application • Contribute to the ongoing migration from ExtJs to React • Develop new features and libraries, including a comprehensive component library • Work with the Product Manager, QA Engineer, and Technical Lead to solutionise feature requests • Lead detailed documentation for new feature developments, including diagrams • Drive development and implementation of tests for new features • Deliver a user-centric front-end platform and exceptional user experiences • Mitigate production incidents by identifying risks and ensuring quality • Participate in incident remediation and root-cause analysis • Implement measures to prevent future incidents • Produce well-architected, efficient, and scalable code using design patterns and methodologies • Lead code reviews and pair-programming sessions while mentoring colleagues • Lead and participate in tech talks, workshops, and team learning initiatives • Identify and address developer-experience and workflow improvements

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive expertise in JavaScript and TypeScript, with a deep understanding of JavaScript fundamentals • Proven experience leading projects with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, or similar • Excellent knowledge of HTML and CSS • Strong understanding of web accessibility • Strong experience with automated testing, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing • Good understanding of software delivery methodologies such as Scrum and Agile • Advanced understanding and application of software engineering principles including SOLID and DRY • Good understanding of front-end build tools such as Webpack and Babel • Basic software architecture skills and understanding of frontends within the overall software stack • Experience with a backend language/framework such as PHP/Symfony • Leadership qualities and a proactive problem-solving mindset • Team collaboration skills and experience mentoring developers • Commitment to continuous learning and staying up to date with industry trends • Excellent written and spoken English • Experience with Docker and containerisation • Experience with build tooling such as GitHub Actions and Bash scripting • Bonus: experience with React Native or other mobile app development technologies • Bonus: past experience with enterprise solutions • Bonus: experience developing a frontend framework/platform • Bonus: experience writing PHP • Bonus: experience with relational and NoSQL database technologies • Bonus: familiarity with Refactoring, Clean Code, Domain-Driven Design, and Test-Driven Development • Must be based in the UK; visa sponsorship is unavailable
