📋 Description

• Own and deliver target architectures, strategies, and roadmaps for Arbor’s product suite and strategic direction • Partner with Technical Leads to provide hands-on guidance for feature delivery, technical-debt reduction, and architecture improvements • Collaborate with Product Directors to translate product vision into deliverables aligned with commercial and engineering goals • Lead Arbor’s shift to AI-first working by architecting SDLC foundations and championing productivity-focused approaches • Mentor and coach Technical Leads and Senior Engineers on architectural and engineering excellence • Model pragmatic, outcome-focused technical leadership • Lead architectural reviews and ensure designs meet quality, reliability, security, and compliance standards • Collaborate with Staff and Principal Engineers on broader technology strategy • Partner with Engineering Management to grow teams, identify dependencies and risks, and report progress against strategic goals

🎯 Requirements

• Extensive track record delivering outcomes and leading across large, complex product suites in scaling, fast-moving environments • Broad understanding of software architecture, system design, and scalable integration patterns • Experience communicating and influencing technical and non-technical audiences • Ability to support the growth of engineers and technical leads across distributed, cross-functional teams • Demonstrable experience in an ownership culture where quality, performance, observability, and security are core responsibilities • Deep experience guiding teams in architectural design, de-risking complex initiatives through MVP/0-1 thinking, and framework adoption • Understanding and opinion on how AI-first engineering will change the SDLC and ways of working, ideally with worked examples • Experience contributing to or leading technical communities of practice, such as chapters, guilds, or architecture councils • Practical knowledge of or exposure to PHP, Node, React, Python, MySQL, AWS, or equivalent technologies • Experience navigating monolithic and distributed architectures with a pragmatic understanding of each • Must be able to work in the United Kingdom; visa sponsorship is unavailable
