• Support, implement, and deploy Microsoft SQL Server infrastructure • Investigate and resolve highly technical problems • Plan and undertake customer-approved software and hardware changes • Assess user requirements and formulate cost-effective technical specifications • Install and test SQL Server software and associated products with application providers • Implement new and modified systems with clients • Maintain standard infrastructure planning and installation methodology • Produce systems documentation according to Atos processes and standards • Follow ITIL change management processes for development and maintenance work • Monitor infrastructure services and identify improvements and preventative maintenance • Develop and sustain the SQL Server Warehouse, ensuring security, health, performance, and operational readiness • Execute data loads and perform data modelling for multiple development teams • Apply SQL Server patches and hot fixes • Troubleshoot blocking, disk-space, failed-job, replication, and disaster-recovery issues • Manage database backups, recovery, restoration, and disaster recovery plans • Restore databases between production and test environments • Manage users and permissions • Create and schedule database jobs • Perform SQL performance tuning, including query analysis, index identification, and statistics usage • Deploy scripts in production environments • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot replication and disaster recovery activities
• Previous Microsoft SQL Server project experience, including infrastructure implementation and deployment • Excellent understanding of SQL infrastructures, including SQL Server 2008–2019 • Established experience patching and upgrading SQL versions • Minimum 3 years of experience setting up and maintaining production Microsoft SQL Server instances • Strong knowledge of SQL database performance tuning • Strong knowledge of SQL failover clustering, log shipping, and mirroring • Strong knowledge of database backup and recovery technologies, including implementation and maintenance • Experience with replication setup and DTS/SSIS • Experience configuring database monitoring using SQL native or third-party software • Experience with large-scale infrastructure transition and transformation projects • Experience installing and configuring SQL Reporting Services, SQL Management Studio, and related tools • Experience setting up database backups and performing database recovery • Experience with database upgrades, migrations, and patching • Experience optimizing SQL database performance and guiding application teams in SQL query tuning • Experience automating database-related activities • Excellent communication skills • Strong documentation skills • Customer and delivery focus • MCSE certification preferred • Microsoft Certification desirable • Knowledge of Oracle and DB2 LUW database technologies desirable • Knowledge of Windows Server configuration desirable • Eligibility for SC clearance is essential
