📋 Description

• Draft, review, and revise routine and non-standard customer, supplier, distributor, clinical, service, and consulting agreements • Analyze draft contracts according to Avantor contracting policies • Advise Sourcing, Sales, and IT teams on complex IT vendor agreements and digital product contracting • Develop and support playbooks and templates for IT, security, and technology agreements • Review data processing agreements • Ensure alignment with IT and business strategies • Escalate complex legal and factual issues to senior attorneys and assist with resolution • Create, implement, and manage systems for efficient agreement creation, negotiation, oversight, and execution • Coordinate contract negotiations across multiple departments • Obtain internal approvals for contract terms and provisions • Identify process improvement opportunities • Perform file management and records retention duties • Communicate legal risks and possible solutions to senior leadership • Provide assistance and guidance to Contracts Specialists • Perform other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 5–10 years of applicable professional experience in a law firm or corporate legal department • Experience handling multiple matters simultaneously and meeting quick turnaround deadlines • Ability to translate technical concepts into practical legal guidance • Excellent judgment • Ability to collaborate and work independently and in a team • Experience providing timely and strategic legal advice • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint • JD required from an accredited law school • Admitted to practice law and in good standing with the bar of at least one US state or the District of Columbia • Must meet local legal license requirements • Advanced contract negotiation abilities • Ability to communicate with senior leadership regarding legal risks and solutions
