BlueArray EU project is a Horizon EIC Pathfinder research consortium developing blue light phased array photonic and electronic solutions for underwater optical wireless communication (UOWC). The project aims to create integrated blue optical phased arrays (OPAs) with VCSEL arrays and LNOI-based components to enable compact, low-power, long-range, high-data-rate UOWC transmitters and receivers for mobile and networked underwater systems (Internet of Underwater Things). It focuses on integrated system-on-chip designs, field optics correction, and demonstration in real-world environments, led by six research institutes across Europe.
