• Sell Bourns’ products within the assigned South UK territory, focusing on major key accounts • Obtain customer purchase orders and achieve monthly sales booking quotas and forecasts • Drive Design Ins and Design Wins with customers • Develop new business, identify product gaps, and advise on trends and customer needs • Cooperate with distribution partners on Demand Discovery and Demand Creation • Coordinate Bourns contacts with customers and interface with FAEs, MDs, PLMs, customer service, and other functions • Conduct face-to-face and virtual sales calls with engineering and purchasing contacts • Seek new uses and applications for company products and help customers adapt products to their requirements • Maintain knowledge of customer personnel, products, Bourns’ product portfolio, competitors, and market trends • Ensure proper handling of customer orders with the Customer Service team • Submit weekly key-customer activity information and monthly customer and market-trend information to the Regional Sales Manager • Submit timely expense reports and comply with company policies and directives • Recommend new, modified, or deleted products as appropriate • Support product lines and Quality functions on quality issues and coordinate resolution with accepted CARs • Attend sales meetings, training programs, conventions, sales contests, and trade shows • Act as Global Account Manager for assigned worldwide accounts • Conduct annual contract negotiations and support worldwide design-in activities • Maintain and expand relationships across customer decision-making levels • Monitor account technical trends, production changes, transfers, management, and ownership • Coordinate supplier-management meetings and implement agreed actions • Establish worldwide project strategies across relevant customer sites, locations, and levels • Follow up transfer business when the Data Support team needs assistance • Visit distribution branch offices and conduct joint customer visits as required • Train and motivate distribution partners • Submit productivity proposals covering cost and technological advantages of new products • Coordinate customer-requested logistics systems such as buffer stock, consignment, EDI, or special 2D labelling
• Good background in electronics highly desirable • Minimum five years of successful experience in a key account or account sales function • Experience ideally in passive components and semiconductors • Ideally a mix of experience at both a supplier and a distributor • Must know customers in the assigned territory and have relationships to bring into Bourns • Must live, or be willing to move, to a logistically suitable place to cover the South of the UK • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with engineers and buyers across multiple hierarchies • Ability to perform strong discovery, interpret customer specifications, and recommend equivalent Bourns components for design-in • Strong communication ability • Ability to operate with minimal supervision and solve problems with minimal guidance • Self-starter, dependable, and willing to accept responsibility • Initiative coupled with willingness to carry responsibility
