📋 Description

• Provide legal support to enterprise entities within Advocate Health • Collaborate with attorneys, business partners, teammates, outside counsel, and vendors • Communicate with Legal Department teammates, business partners, courts, and government agencies • Manage and delegate projects to outside counsel involving EEOC charges, lawsuits, government investigations, and employment matters • Manage complex litigation, transactions, litigation holds, investigations, due diligence, discovery, and other legal matters • Conduct legal research • Conduct witness interviews and prepare witnesses for depositions, government agency interviews, and trial • Attend and support mediations and depositions • Negotiate contracts, employment agreements, settlement agreements, severance agreements, discovery responses, pleadings, position statements, agency responses, correspondence, memoranda, and policies • Participate in knowledge sharing, training, mentoring, and development within the Legal Department • Support leadership and business clients on legal strategy and risk management • Develop, approve, and interpret policies • Work with governmental and regulatory agencies to protect the enterprise's interests

🎯 Requirements

• Attorney must be licensed and registered as required by applicable law • Doctorate Degree in Law from an accredited law school • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing legal services within a law firm or as in-house legal counsel • Intimate familiarity with state and federal employment laws • Demonstrated familiarity with federal and applicable state employment laws and related agencies highly recommended • Experience counseling multi-state employers preferred • Ability to advise on complex employment matters and interact with senior executives • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Analytical and critical thinking abilities • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines • Ability to support legal and business strategy while assessing, communicating, managing, and mitigating legal risk • Ability to develop, approve, and interpret policies • Ability to leverage outside counsel while controlling costs • Ability to work with governmental and regulatory agencies • Leadership and motivational skills • Strong time management and organizational skills • Project management and leadership skills • Excellent computer and technical skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access • Proficiency in legal databases and relevant computer software • Data integrity management • Research and investigation skills • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations • Knowledge of court and government agency systems and procedures • Proficient in business English, legal terminology, and research • Ability to understand math concepts related to wage issues • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment • Travel required
