📋 Description

• Support product squads as the sole designer in the squads supported • Take prioritised requirements through divergent concepts, testing, iteration and convergence to shipped software • Set the design pace, make design decisions and bring engineering and product stakeholders along • Shape IMP's design playbook and design operations • Influence the design of established and next-generation greenfield products • Contribute to IMPDesign.one, the unified AI-generated design system with human review • Contribute to IMPDesign.skills, AI-powered design skills that remove routine work • Contribute to IMPInsight, the user-feedback and insight platform • Generate multiple concept variants from prioritised requirements • Conduct usability testing with real users and in-house domain experts • Collect feedback, iterate and help squads land defensible final solutions • Support story breakdown and technical refinement through build • Collaborate with product owners, product specialists, engineering and product teams • Participate in peer reviews with the Head of Product Design • Manage own work and participate in weekly planning, coaching and mentoring sessions • No people management responsibilities

🎯 Requirements

• You've been the design lead on a squad or team - the only designer in the room, making the call • Ability to walk through a real piece of work from requirement to shipped software and explain decisions • Self-starter able to manage work independently in a remote, embedded, sole-designer role • Use of generative AI in design practice, or active exploration of it • Willingness to experiment with the Terminal • Experimental mindset and ability to show what you have built, broken or learned • Experience designing complex, data-dense products • Clear writing sufficient for a remote team to follow reasoning without a meeting • Portfolio showing thinking and process, not just final screens • Experience with accounting, finance or budgeting software (nice to have) • B2B SaaS experience, particularly with professional users working under time pressure (nice to have) • Experience designing interfaces on top of AI output, including review states, confidence, correction and human-in-the-loop (nice to have) • Experience designing across a multi-product platform or suite (nice to have) • Public-sector, education or regulated-domain experience (nice to have)
